Buying or renting linen for restaurants and hotels

Posted February 4, 2011

Some hotel and restaurant owners usually hire table linen or linen from a trusted industrial laundry using special rfid industrial laundry systems, while others buy it because maybe they have more choice or because they are looking for a fabric with texture and color details in accordance with their tastes or style of the architect, and then either they wash it in-house or outsource the cleaning of their linen to the same industrial laundries.

If we want to choose quality fabrics and design and colorful linen, from a purely economic point of view what is the calculation to be done to decide whether it is cheaper to purchase and pay to wash them or hire them from a laundry?

It is obvious that each table linen can have a very different cost, according to its finishes and fabric as well as the laundry cost for ironing hard to treat linen may be expensive.

In the presence of a competitive offer of rental we could decide to buy it because maybe we have found the fabric that we really like, so a definitive purchase could be even better than a rental.
